ROUTE SETTING WORKSHOP
WITH CREATIVE CLIMBING
Friday 11th November | 09:00 - 16:30
The Climbing Hangar, Exeter
only 8 spaces available
The hugely popular 'Introduction to boulder route setting workshop' is brought to you by Emma Twyford and Evie Cotrulia of Creative Climbing.
With over 20 years of combined route setting experience, together they are on a mission to inspire more women into the industry by providing women-only route setting workshops for beginners. From every workshop they have run there is at least one female now being paid to route set.
Evie Cotrulia started setting at a time when she could only name one other female setter and is now the route setting manager / head setter at 3 UK climbing centres.
Emma Twyford is a freelance routesetter with over 27 years of climbing. A former British Bouldering Champion and member of Team GB Climbing, she was also the first British woman to redpoint 9a.
This workshop will introduce you to route setting in a safe and encouraging environment.
Our hope is that from attending the workshop you will:
Gain confidence using route setting equipment
Learn to set fun and functional boulders
Come away with a good understanding of the basics of route setting.
AM I SUITABLE?
The workshop is aimed at complete beginners to route setting. No previous use of power tools is necessary as all training will be given.
Climbing at least V2 would be an advantage to get the most out of the course.
WHAT DO I NEED?
