Attention all... the fabulous Gilly McArthur (she/her) will be gracing the main stage as our 2nd headline speaker at WCS22 and we simply cannot wait!
An illustrator, climber and wild swimmer, Gilly is a director of the Women's Trad Festival, a cold water swim coach and founder of Blue Mind men - a cold water swim club.
Originally from the North of Scotland, Gilly now lives in the Lake District where she is partial to an iced over tarn to swim in and loves helping others find their space in the outdoors.
Much of Gilly's work is strongly tied into mental wellbeing and she has written numerous articles, participated in podcasts, featured in films, and graced the main stage at a number of high-profile outdoor events in order to passionately share cold water swimming with a broader audience. The video below does a beautiful job of allowing us to 'dip a toe' into her world.
Join us at WCS22 on Saturday 12th November where Gilly will be sharing stories and adventures to inspire us all into becoming "non-competitive, inquisitive and adventurous" cold water swimmers just like her.
"There is a lot of fun to be had getting semi naked and cold with strangers and I'm delighted to share this knowledge with the WCS community - it has helped my climbing immeasurably and I’m looking forward to joining you!” - Gilly
Gilly has a beautiful website filled with her illustrations so make sure to take a look.
