About the Event

How is your sleep? Has it changed over the course of the Pandemic? Do you want to improve it? Join sleep science expert Dr Charlotte Edelsten to learn about what good sleep looks like, why we need it, what impacts the quality of your sleep and how it can affect your performance. Charlotte will share how to develop better sleep habits to support your climbing and day-to-day life, as well as data from studies into women's sleep.

Dr Charlotte Edelsten is an expert in Sleep Science and Human Movement Scientist. With a background in lab-based sleep studies and an experienced CBT-i coach - the ‘gold standard’ in sleep therapy for insomnia- Charlotte is passionate about sharing the secrets and powers of good quality sleep for physical health, mental wellbeing and sports and cognitive performance.

After completing her PhD in the UK, Charlotte took a postdoctoral position at Geneva University Hospital in 2009, where she worked between the sleep laboratory and the laboratory of kinesiology (movement). After spending the past 10 years in both a clinical and research environment studying the power of sleep, she now works as a sleep consultant in Chamonix Mont-Blanc, where she is one of several researchers responsible for running an annual study during the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc.

Charlotte also runs private sleep clinics, where she advises, assesses, and diagnoses individuals with a wide range of sleep problems and disorders. She works alongside a team of colleagues – from physiotherapists to GPs to nutritionists to ‘prescribe’ quality sleep. She is particularly interested in the cognitive and health related impairment that results from disturbed sleep - and the effect this has on athletic performance.
