Our flagship Women’s Climbing Symposium event runs once a year, each time at a different location in the UK. This year it will take place on International Women's Day, Saturday 8th March at The Climbing Hangar, Sheffield.
We will be releasing the full programme soon, but expect a full day of coaching workshops, focus talks and headline speakers all carefully curated by our WCS team to connect, develop and inspire women climbers. The event is also a brilliant opportunity to meet and climb with others, and is a friendly and welcoming space whether you attend on your own or with friends. As well as our scheduled workshops and talks, there will be creative elements, stories from the climbing community, prizes and giveaways, fantastic food from TCH Sheffield, and opportunities to find out more from our partners in the climbing world.
COACHING WORKSHOPS
We bring together expert climbing coaches from across the country to deliver workshops on movement, head game and flexibility. You’ll choose to attend two workshops, more details can be found here.
FOCUS TALKS
This year we have an incredible line up with talks on psychology, physiotherapy, route setting, climbing as a deaf person, lifelong climbing adventures, and female hormones. Participants choose to attend two focus talks during the day. We will be adding to our focus speaker page soon so watch this space!
PLENARY SESSIONS
At each event we bring in headline speakers to deliver inspirational talks to the whole WCS audience. More details on this year's plenary sessions will be announced very soon!
There are 150 tickets on sale for this event, and they are selling fast! Purchase your tickets, gift a ticket to a friend, or apply for a bursary ticket here.
Please check our FAQ if you have any questions about the event, and drop us an email if there’s something else you’d like to ask.
BURSARY PLACES
As part of our commitment to the wider WCS community we have a few bursary places on offer for this year’s event. This year we hope these places may be augmented by support from other Symposium attendees.
These places (fully or partially funded) are primarily aimed at those who cannot afford to attend and come from underrepresented backgrounds, and for whom the event would be a game changer in their personal climbing journey.
If you would like to apply for a bursary place, please contact us outlining your circumstances and we will see what we can do.
**Closing date: 8pm on Monday 17th February 2025**
